Job Description
- Assess patients’ nutritional needs and recommend appropriate dietary plans.
- Provide individualized nutritional care and quality meals for hospitalized patients.
- Consult with physicians to design and adjust diet plans based on medical needs.
- Develop and implement modified diets for patients with specific conditions.
- Educate patients and families on healthy eating and nutritional habits.
- Supervise food preparation and meal service to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Inspect meals to confirm accuracy, presentation, nutrient balance, and temperature.
- Monitor and record patients’ diet checklists and maintain dietary office records.
- Formulate and manage nasogastric (NG) and PEG feeds according to physician’s instructions and caloric requirements.
- Coordinate recipe development, menu planning, and standardization for food services.
- Inspect and evaluate nutritional value of food items served.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, dietetic assistants, and service aides in diet and food service management.
- Ensure patient-centered care that respects cultural and individual dietary values.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and hand hygiene practices.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives in dietary and food service management.
